Any stove that can run multiple fuels should ideally run LP (like this one does) as well. Most of the MSR line up won’t run LP gas, which is a damn shame because LP gas is such a breeze to light. I only use LP on my nova+ during the summer. If where I’m going is cold or its winter, then I bring white gas and spend the extra time lighting it.

Typically LP refers to propane, which is the larger green or black canisters that are quite heavy. These do burn a canister fuel, but it is an iso-butane mix, which uses a much lighter canister. I only mention this for those that don’t know already.

I do like that some of the other stoves can run the Iso Butane as well as the liquid fuels.

Yeah its great to just use LP during the summer since its so damn easy to light, but the second it gets below freezing I bring white gas with me.

You could have shortened the boil time with the lid on.

watching this video, comes to my mind this question? can you store the fuel canister, the stove in the pot and put the lid on? it would be great if u can store the stove and the fuel inside the pot for keep space in your backpack.

How loud is this in person? Obviously its loud on the microphones but its it so loud that it would wake someoe up in the morning? hahaha :D btw great review!

  16. mattburnsey says:

@Emanc441 I would like to know too.

  17. thetopgearpicks says:

@Emanc441 It is *fairly* quiet in my opinion. It is a bit louder than a gas kitchen stove, but the sounds of the stove will be no worse than moving pots and gear around in the morning. If you are up stumbling around first thing, it won’t be the stove that will wake anyone. :-) The good news is, if the stove is going, it means coffee isn’t far off!

  18. Emanc441 says:

Oh ok thats good :D and ya haha that is good news!
