Making your Choice of Camping Propane Stoves

Posted by Filed Under Camping Propane Stoves, Featured with No Comments

Camping propane stoves have diversified and expanded into the numerous models that we see nowadays. This created confusion among the consumers in selecting the best one for their particular needs. There is no brand or model that will cater to everything that you need and you frequently have to go from store to store in search for a suitable one. To aid you in your selection, you need to consider two things first – size and fuel.

The size of the group that will go out on a camping trip or an outdoor adventure will dictate the size of camping propane stoves that you need to consider. If you are going out with the whole family or with a group of friends, you need to consider a stove that will serve all the cooking requirements for several people. A smaller model can be purchased if you are going out alone or with your partner. If you are going to bring a car to a location and you will stay there for the duration of the trip, it is alright to bring along a heavy model since you do not need to log it around. It is also more efficient to use a larger stove. But if your trip involves hiking around in the wilderness, you should only bring a small, portable one since it is very physically draining to carry heavy baggage with you.

There are several types of fuels that are used for camping stoves but if you want ease of use, then camping propane stoves should be your choice. You can have a bulk canister or small fuel units which you can dispose of after use.

I am trying to find a camping stove called a Kangaroo Kitchen. Anyone know where to find one?

Posted by Filed Under Camping Propane Stoves with 6 Comments

The Kangaroo Kitchen was a propane fueled camp stove that was no bigger than a brief case but could be used to cooking, baking, and heating water for clean up as well as the grill was used as a drain board. I really want a new one. Saw one in a Dick’s sporting goods ad but could not find the actual stove or a supplier. Thanks for your help.

They are somewhat full.
I’m wanting to store all my camoing stuff in one big box. Is there any harm in putting the small propane tanks in with the tent, backpack, tarps, stove, ect.? The box will then be put in a garage. Should I jst get rid of the tanks? Do they ever leak? I know you would have to pucture then pretty hard for anything too bad to happen.

In winter, there are always reports of people being overcome by fumes when they use a propane or butane stove for heat in an enclosed space. While winter camping in sub-zero temperatures, a camping buddy told me that you can reduce "the fumes" by simply boiling water. Is this corredt or is it just masking fume smell?
